Test Managers Special Interest Group Meetings
To provide ongoing networking and professional development opportunities for Test Managers, K. J. Ross & Associates will be hosting a series of free Special Interest Group Meetings.K. J. Ross & Associates has been hosting the Test Managers Forum (TMF) annually for 7 years. Attendees at the forum often indicated they would like the opportunity to share experiences and network with their colleagues at follow up events throughout the year. In response we are pleased to present a series of Test Manager Special Interest Group Meetings.
At TMF, attendees are asked to indicate through a survey their most critical challenges. The Special Interest Group Meetings will aim to take one of these challenges and with the facilitation of an expert in the area, provide some case study experiences and best practice examples to address that challenge.

Test Management – Industry Survey ResultsIn 2009, K. J. Ross & Associates commenced research to benchmark the value perception of software testing, and to identify trends for IT executives regarding adoption of software testing and quality practices. This has been the most comprehensive software testing industry benchmark undertaken in Australia to date and has produced some interesting results.
At this meeting, Kelvin will present the results of the survey, focusing in particular on the results relevant to those in the test manager role. Software testing and quality is a significant component of IT expenditure. Previous benchmarks have shown software testing is increasing to over 20% of the IT project budget expenditure, with expectations for further increases. Yet many organisations are unsure of what value testing provides, and whether their approach is up to scratch. Come along to hear how your organisation and testing team measures up against the industry benchmark.
