SMART Labs Facility

The SMART Labs facility takes a unique approach to a modern software test laboratory.

The SMART Labs facility itself is located in our Brisbane office at Spring Hill. In our facility we host broadband network connectivity, a collection of close to 100 workstations and servers connected by high speed networks. This enables our core facility to be supported by a small on-site team of test consultants, while the majority of our consultants can work remotely closer to the client.

Through development of our own networks and software testing tools we have provided complete connectivity and remote collaboration with our team of consultants and our clients. Our VPN concentrator allows remote access to our systems, with segregated test environments that can be accessed remotely by our clients during testing projects. From a desktop located anywhere in the world, our customers can share a desktop of one of our test workstations, or engage in video conferencing sessions with our test staff. This provides unmatched capability to collaborate in test planning and debugging sessions, even when separated by thousands of kilometers. When working onsite on client premises, remote access allows our consultants to VPN to the SMART Labs network to access our extensive range of test resources.

Our tools can be either hosted in our central facility, or can be distributed across remotely deployed servers which are either deployed onsite at customer premises, or located at our hosting data centres on the Gold Coast, Sydney and Seattle in the US. This allows us to deploy a test workstation anywhere we can gain remote access, and to conduct testing remotely, without inhibitive travel costs and allowing rapid response to reengagement should testing be suspended and later resumed. Our network of distributed test tools allows us to undertake load tests without need for our clients to rollout equipment and obtain access to additional bandwidth.

Our state-of-the-art use of remote collaboration and distributed testing capabilities allows us to service customers throughout Australia, and provide ongoing test services to international customers. One of our major customers is one of the world's largest bank based in London, and all work is undertaken from the Gold Coast without yet a single requirement for an onsite visit by our consultants or the client.
