ICA40605 Certificate IV in Information Technology (Testing)

ICA40605 Certificate IV in Information Technology (Testing) meets CSTP®

K. J. Ross & Associates have successfully run their CSTP® Programme for over 8 years, and now to provide further benefit to our students and their employers we are able to offer the Certificate IV in Information Technology (Testing).

The CSTP® programme has always maintained extensive industry recognition and we can now also provide students with a nationally recognised educational qualification that has been mapped to three of our four CSTP® courses. This will provide students with an ongoing learning and development pathway – developing and recognizing the profession of the Software Tester.

Certificate IV in Information Technology (Testing) has been designed to be more than just a certification scheme, but a complete competence development plan for aspiring software test professionals. The course relies upon development of competence in the workplace ensuring that the students are developing the skills and knowledge that an employer needs them to have.

Traineeships

Certificate IV in Information Technology (Testing) is approved as an Australian Traineeship in most states. Traineeships formalise the training agreement between an employer and an employee.

The employer agrees to provide an environment which supports and assists the employee undertaking the traineeship and assessment services. The training organization (in this case K. J. Ross & Associates working in partnership with 1 Training Solutions) facilitates the training and assessment process.

In some cases Commonwealth and State funding may be available for eligible employees who enroll in a traineeship. The eligibility criteria and available funding differ between states and programmes are updated frequently. More information can be obtained through an Australian Apprenticeship Centre and we are happy to provide a referral to an AAC should you require more information.

Whether your eligible employee enrolls in a formal traineeship or not, the delivery and assessment strategy remain the same.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Those students who have previously successfully completed aspects of the CSTP® course or who have extensive experience within the software testing industry may wish to apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
